Many people put off updating their headshots.  It’s understandable but there are very good reasons why it’s smart to invest in a new headshot.  And what better time than the start of a new year to get yours? 

Reasons why it may be time to update your headshot

*You have a new job or position.  Or you have started a new career or are returning to the professional world after some time off.

*You have outgrown your current headshot.  You don’t look like your headshot anymore or it isn’t a good representation of you today. A good rule of thumb for adults is to update your headshot at least every five years.

*Your current headshot looks unprofessional.  May be it is actually an iPhone snapshot or you have cropped yourself out of a group photo.

*You want to redefine your personal brand.  Your current headshot isn’t assisting you with that redefinition.

*People are likely to notice your picture before your studying your resume or credentials.  It is the first thing that will make an impression. Make it a good one.

The list goes on but the message is the same – do not to hesitate.  Professional photographers like myself are trained to take photographs that will bring out the best in you.  A polished headshot not only will help you get that new job or position on a board but also will help build your confidence.  It is a great feeling when you are happy with your headshot.
