Cousin Love

When I heard that my closest cousin Jill’s daughter Bella missed her high school graduation and two proms due to Covid-19 I reached out and arranged a session.  We had an incredible time.  It was a perfect summer evening.  The day had been very warm but it was late enough to have cooled off and the setting sun made for magical light.

Bella had her outfits picked out for our session but was unsure if she wanted to put on one of her prom dresses.  My cousin and I encouraged her to put one on and asked her if she wanted to check to see if her boyfriend Giovanni was available to join.  Luckily Gio lives minutes away and was free.  I have not photographed too many couples but these two were a dream!  Gio arrived and was taken back when Bella emerged in her stunning shimmery princess like prom dress.  She looked absolutely gorgeous!  Gio felt underdressed in his shirt and shorts but I told him and Bella that the whole scene had a Town & Country feel.  Even the family’s cocker spaniel Brady decided to cooperate.

We had so much fun during the whole shoot and if the sun hadn’t started to set, I would probably have photographed Bella for another hour!

As a bonus I got to visit my cousin Jill and even was treated to a wonderful dinner made by her older daughter Olivia.  Like my cousin Jill, both her daughters are smart, beautiful and gracious.   I was so happy to photograph Bella before she leaves for the University of Miami.  It was not a real prom but at least she got to feel like a princess for a little while.
